SEVA’s membership base is expanding with an important research and education institution. The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava has become a new member of the Slovak Electric Vehicle Association.

STU is one of Slovakia’s key technical universities. It builds on the almost 270-year legacy of the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica, where the foundations were laid for education connected with practice. Today, the university provides technical education and involves students in research in natural sciences, computer science, civil engineering, architecture, chemistry, food science and materials technologies.
STU research teams take part in international projects and work on approximately 700 grant-funded research projects each year. In addition, they carry out hundreds of contract research projects for industrial practice.
For the e-mobility ecosystem, the link between university research and the needs of industry is especially important. In this area, STU focuses on research and development in battery technologies, preparing students for technology and industrial companies, and cooperation with the automotive industry. The goal is to transfer research results into practice and strengthen the expertise Slovakia needs for the transformation of mobility and the automotive industry.
SEVA’s membership base now brings together nearly 80 companies and organisations from technology, charging infrastructure, vehicle import, energy, logistics, finance and other sectors. STU’s membership strengthens the association’s expert background particularly in research, technical education, batteries and cooperation between academia and industry.
SEVA has long connected companies, expert institutions, municipalities and public administration to create practical recommendations and conditions for the development of zero-emission mobility in Slovakia. The involvement of STU is another step towards ensuring that the discussion on e-mobility is based not only on market experience, but also on research, technical know-how and the preparation of a new generation of experts.
