Uber has launched its first autonomous ride-hailing service in Europe through its app in Zagreb. Pony.ai provides the autonomous driving technology, Verne owns and operates the fleet, and Uber handles ride requests through its platform. Autonomous rides are available in select parts of Zagreb daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. During the initial phase, a licensed operator is present in the vehicle, with the goal of gradually transitioning to fully driverless operation.
