Electric cars can recuperate (get electricity back into the battery from braking) at an average of 22%. In tests, ADAC found that the Dacia Spring recovers 35% of its energy, the Tesla 40%, the BMW i7 up to 50% when driving downhill. Heavier cars recover better, but at the same time consume more.
