Pony.ai and Verne have begun test rides of fully autonomous robotaxis in Zagreb. On 10 September 2026, the companies announced rides with passengers without a driver on public roads, describing them as a European first. Testing is taking place on a 22-kilometre route connecting Verne’s headquarters, one of Zagreb’s main business districts and Franjo Tuđman Airport; the operating area is expected to expand in the coming months. According to the companies, the service launched at the beginning of April has already covered more than 200,000 kilometres, completed several thousand rides and achieved an average passenger rating of 4.7 out of 5.
