Finland has opened Europe's first lithium mine with complete processing to battery quality. The Keliber project in the Kaustinen and Kokkola area will create around 350 jobs and reduce dependence on imports from China. There are plans to open several deposits, with the main mines having reserves for 18 years. The European supply chain will thus gain its own source of strategic raw materials for electromobility and energy storage. yle.fi 🇬🇧
