The European Commission has launched the Battery Booster Facility call for proposals with a budget of 1.5 billion euros. The support will take the form of interest-free loans for European battery cell manufacturing projects that need to overcome the challenging start-up phase of production. The call is intended for plants in the EEA with a planned capacity of at least 10 GWh per year that manufacture cells for electric vehicles.
