V4 at a crossroads: how to move away from combustion cars and not lose competitiveness
The Slovak Electromobility Association (SEVA), in cooperation with the Czech E-mobility Platform and the Polish New Mobility Association (PSNM), has prepared an analytical material "Shifting gears: Visegrad ICE dependency and the road to electromobility", which identifies key risks and opportunities for the transformation of transport in the Visegrad Four (V4) countries.
The publication shows that Central Europe is extremely strongly tied to the automotive industry – both economically and in terms of consumption – and at the same time faces the consequences of a long-standing “diesel/petrol leakage”, i.e. the massive import of older combustion cars from Western Europe. This slows down the renewal of the vehicle fleet and deepens the gap in clean mobility between the West and our region.
