The development of charging infrastructure in Slovakia is not only a matter of investment and technology. Predictable, uniform and efficient permitting processes are just as important, as they make it possible to build charging points faster and with less administrative burden.

SEVA, together with the Association of Industrial Unions and Transport, organised an expert roundtable on 18 June 2026 dedicated to changes in charging infrastructure permitting in Slovakia.
The aim of the meeting was to bring practical experience from the construction and permitting of charging stations into an expert discussion with representatives of public administration and to identify legislative changes that could simplify and speed up permitting processes.
The discussion focused on four key areas: the application of the new Building Act, the implementation of EPBD requirements into Slovak legislation, conditions for building charging points in apartment buildings and fire safety issues.

The roundtable confirmed that charging infrastructure needs not only capital and technical solutions, but also clear rules and practically workable procedures. These are what determine whether new charging points move from plans into real operation within a reasonable time.
SEVA will continue to promote measures that help remove administrative barriers and create more favourable conditions for the development of e-mobility in Slovakia.
