A new study by the Kiel Institute shows that Beijing heavily subsidises its domestic industry in sectors such as electric mobility or wind power. Total subsidies in China can be up to 9 times those in other OECD countries such as the US or Germany. According to the analysis, one of the main beneficiaries is electric car manufacturer BYD, which received €220 million in 2020 and even up to €2.1 billion in 2022. Read more at ifw-kiel.de
