The European People's Party (EPP) has changed its position on the "ban" on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035. In the latest draft of its manifesto for the forthcoming European Parliament elections, the party says it will no longer oppose the ban, although it has previously stressed the importance of technological neutrality and refused to force manufacturers to switch to electric vehicles.
