The European Commission has proposed to lift the ban on incinerators. The adjustment of the target from the original 100% CO₂ reduction to 90% by 2035 is seen by SEVA as a politically pragmatic compromise that may provide short-term relief to the industry, but in any case does not change the fundamental direction of the transformation.
