Electric trucks could give companies a competitive advantage. In its strategic report “Beyond Diesel”, published on 7 September 2026, MAN Truck & Bus states that the share of battery-electric trucks in new registrations in Europe could reach 15 to 35 percent by 2030. By 2035, approximately 50 percent of European transport and freight companies are expected to have at least one battery-electric truck in their fleet. According to the report, combining depot charging, photovoltaics, battery storage and intelligent energy management can deliver a total-cost advantage of up to 13 percent over diesel within five years.
